Qaisar “Q” Imam has served many Fortune 500 clients during his career as a Senior Manager at IBM Global Business Services, helping them establish strong program governance to manage risks and attain delivery excellence.

Before IBM, Mr. Imam served as a project manager with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), consulting for the Public Utility and Healthcare industry. Mr. Imam, in 2021 led a ‘game-changing’ Task Force comprised of Childcare Providers, Fort Bend Schools reps, University of Houston (Fort Bend) reps, County Social Services, and parents to help identify the needs in Fort Bend county around childcare. Fort Bend’s Commissioners Court approved two significant initiatives based on the Task Force’s recommendations; financial assistance provided directly to the licensed childcare facilities and a Childcare Voucher Program designed to help struggling families. The ongoing program has been recognized at the national level as an innovative program to help struggling families stay in the workforce.

He is also the co-founder of Villa Di Maria Montessori school in Fort Bend. This and his wife’s business in Fort Bend County have created jobs right here in Fort Bend.

Serving the People of Fort Bend

Mr. Imam believes in strong community service. He is currently serving as the Board President Fort Bend Rainbow Room, meeting critical needs of our county’s abused and neglected children and adults. He also serves on the Board of Literacy Council of Fort Bend, focused on improving community, family, and professional lives through adult literacy education. He has served as the President, Exchange Club of Fort Bend and as the District Director of Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast Exchange serving community, recognizing youth and promoting Americanism As the Vice Chair of the Committee for Civilian Engagement for the Association of United States Army he helped increased awareness of the Army personnel and veterans needs. His most cherished experience in the community is to serve as the Volunteers Chair for the annual Toys-for-Tots Santa’s Exchange where he has been instrumental in engaging over 2,400 Fort Bend youth to volunteer over the last 6 years. This has helped instill a great sense of community service and give-back in our youth and is considered as one of the most cherished volunteer activities in Fort Bend. As the President, Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA) Houston Chapter he has been instrumental in promoting civic engagement of AAPI community. In 2021 APAPA under his leadership conducted ‘Stop the Hate’ rally to raise awareness about hate crime against the AAPI community. The rally sent a loud and clear message to the society that there is no place for hate in Fort Bend County. It was attended by a multitude of people from all walks and State, County, and City wide leaders addressed the rally. Mr. Imam believes in strong schools and helping students excel. He has twice served on the Facilities Planning Committee for the Fort Bend ISD (FBISD). He has also served on the FBISD Bond Oversight Committee to help ensure that the monies allocated through the bond were spent in a responsible and transparent manner. Mr. Imam has been active in the local schools serving on the Campus Based Leadership Teams for middle and elementary schools. He is also a certified Mentor for the public schools. He loved his role as the President of the Dad’s Club in the elementary school. Mr. Imam attended The College of Wooster in Ohio where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with an Honors in his Economics major. He was also awarded the prestigious William Galpin Award for the best overall graduate. He has served on his alma mater’s Alumni Board. He was also Project Management Professional (PMP) certified in 2009. Married to Dr. Bushra Cheema for 29 years, Mr. Imam has three children who all have or are attending Fort Bend ISD schools.
